The Japan Gastroenterological Endoscopy Society (JGES) is providing the Guidelines Regarding Conflicts of Interest in Clinical Research for the appropriate management of conflicts of interest (COI) resulting from involvement in collaborations between industry and academia in clinical research since January 2011.
Thus, anyone who plans to present at congresses or meetings of the Japan Gastroenterological Endoscopy Society, including Japan Digestive Disease Week (JDDW), is requested to comply with the Guidelines and their Detailed Regulations.
※Conflict of interest (COI) occurs when a member is potentially torn between two conflicting interests, as a consequence of medical research activities promoted by the society, one for common goods which shall be returned to the society and the other private profits resulting from cooperative collaborations with the industry.
